Can you help bring Michael Percy home?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
Percy was last seen in Tenants Harbor, Maine on May 1, 1975. Percy, and his business partner, Judd Miller , were on their way back from Stockton Springs in a lobster boat Miller had just bought. Their parents suspect the boat overheated; its hatch cover was off when it was found the next day, anchored in the bay, but what happened next is unclear. The skiff was found upside down the next day in Belfast. The men, however, were never found. The water was 40 degrees that day, suggesting hypothermia as a cause of death. The weather was clear and calm; the bay was flat. The Coast Guard eventually issued a report saying the pair was lost at sea. Percy's family holds no hope that Percy could still be alive somewhere. No one has claimed to have seen him since the accident, and they believe the area fishermen who say the two men's bodies likely sank into one of the deep holes on the floor of the bay. The original police file was lost over the years.
