Overview of Barbara Aleksivich
Where is Barabar Aleksivich? Barbara disappeared two blocks away from her destination.
She was walking home from the Elk's Lodge in Bath, New York to her home two streets away. When she never arrived, her husband called the police to investigate her disappearance. No clues or solid leads have ever been presented, despite the short distance that she could have gone after leaving the club.
Police had a suspect, but he was never charged or linked to her disappearance.
Authorities suspected Frederick C. Bush had something to do with her disappearance, due to his proximity to the town and proclivity for violent crimes against women. He had been convicted of murdering a woman and burning her body and had been subsequently released. Bush worked at a local dairy plant and lived on the outskirts of town, but not close to Barbara's home. Authorities also suspected a man named Richard W. Davis of killing Barbara, but his primary targets were young teens and children. Both men are since deceased and were taken off of a police suspect list in 2020.
