She went to Foothill High School in Pleasanton for her freshman and sophomore years; she was very athletic and played on the school’s volleyball team. She was passionate about animals, the environment, music, and volleyball and had been looking forward to attending her dream college.
When Sydney Was Last Seen:
On the morning of September 30, 2020, Sydney used a ride-share service. The driver was interviewed by SFPD, was fully cooperative and helpful, and is not considered a suspect. Sydney was last seen on Sept. 30, 2020, at approximately 6:45 a.m. PT on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA, a place she often went to take pictures and exercise. At 6:45 am, she started making her way across the bridge in the direction of Crissy Field, but she never made it off the bridge. At some point during her walk, Sydney vanished without a trace. Authorities later reviewed the security footage from the Golden State Bridge, but due to foggy conditions, many of the camera views were obstructed. There were many joggers, tourists, and cyclists on the bridge that morning. Therefore, it was challenging for investigators to know her exact location on the bridge or where she may have exited the bridge. There were also nearby wildfires that impacted air quality and visibility as well. There has been no activity on any of her accounts (phone, bank, credit card, social media, etc.) since the morning of Sept. 30, 2020.
Sydney was wearing long dark leggings, a teal hoodie sweatshirt, and Vans slip-on sneakers with a blue/green tropical print. Her hair was in a bun on the top of her head. She has been carrying a black backpack. Her backpack was found in an area around the Golden Gate Bridge and was turned over to the SFPD as part of the investigation. It contained personal items and was later returned to her family.
Where the case stands today.
Sydney's case remains unsolved. Her family is committed to bringing her home. The family has brought in a private investigator to help work the case. There is a $25,000 reward available for information leading to her return or location.
