The disappearance of Summer Wells, a five-year-old girl from Rogersville, Tennessee, has captured the attention of the nation since June 15, 2021. As the case remains unsolved, the community and the nation continue to search for answers.
Summer Wells was born on February 4, 2016, to parents Candus Bly and Donald Wells. She was the youngest of five siblings and lived in the rural community of Beech Creek, part of Hawkins County, Tennessee. With her long blond hair, blue eyes, and a smile that could light up a room, Summer was a beloved member of her family and the community.
On June 15, 2021, Summer was reported missing by her parents. Here is a timeline of events leading up to and following her disappearance:
As soon as the news of Summer's disappearance broke, the community came together to search for her. Over the following weeks, hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement personnel from local, state, and federal agencies scoured the rugged terrain surrounding the Wells' home. Despite the massive search effort, no sign of Summer was found. Authorities conducted interviews, collected evidence, and followed up on numerous tips, but the investigation seemed to hit a dead end.
