Melanie Warren was last seen on April 11, 1997 near a bank in Savannah, Georgia. Melanie was separated from her husband and living with her elderly parents at the time she disappeared; she had moved in with them about three months before her disappearance. Her parents last saw her April 9, 1997.
A friend saw Melanie at a bank on Waters Avenue in Savannah, Georgia on April 11, 1997. Two men were waiting outside for her in a car. Melanie was crying and upset, but she told her friend that she did not need the police or her parents. Melanie Warren has never been seen or heard from again.
On May 3, 1997, several weeks after Melanie's disappearance, her car (a green 1992 Pontiac Bonneville) was located in a parking lot on Georgia 204 near Interstate 95. There was little indication of her whereabouts in or around the car, and there was no blood found.
