On January 12, 1986, Louis’ 48th birthday, he was last seen picking up his paycheck at First Security Bank in Gooding County, ID. Four days later, however, his bank account was overdrawn by $56.
Six days after Louis was last seen, on January 20, 1986, his car was impounded by Nevada Highway Patrol because it was found abandoned on Highway 93, approximately 15 miles north of Las Vegas, NV. According to reports, one of the windows had been punched out and the keys were left inside, along with Louis’ personal belongings.

Louis’ case remains unsolved. His case has been officially labeled a “cold case”, due to him not being seen or heard from for more than 36 years. Authorities believe he may have been taken against his will. Authorities want to use DNA technology in Louis’ case, but they have been unable to locate any of his relatives in Spain.
At the time of his disappearance in 1986, Louis was described as a 48 year old caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes. He was 6’1” tall and weighed approximately 200 lbs.
