Leocardia was a beloved wife and mother living in Middletown Township, NJ when she vanished.

On January 3, 1985, Leocardia was last seen by her husband lying on the couch in their home on Kentucky Avenue in Middletown Township, NJ. When he checked on her about an hour later, she was gone. All of her belongings were left in the home, including her clothes, purse, money, car, dentures, reading glasses, and her cigarettes.
“She never did anything like this before. My father used to say she went for walks. All I can think of is she took a walk and somebody could have grabbed her.” - Jacqueline Statviskie, Leocardia’s daughter.
Extensive searches followed her disappearance, which included a combined hundreds of volunteers, several agencies, and even helicopter searches. None of these searches, unfortunately, led authorities any closer to Leocardia’s whereabouts.
