What happened to Jerry Ray Shanafelt in 2004?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
According to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Jerry was last seen on October 27, 2004 somewhere in Riverton, WY. Other agencies state that he was last seen on November 4, 2004. He has not been seen or been in contact with anyone since.
Unfortunately, there is very little information available about Jerry or his disappearance, though more than 18 years has passed since he was last seen. His case seems to not have had any movement or further investigation since his disappearance in 2004 and it seems that his case has gone completely cold.
At the time of his disappearance in 2004, Jerry was described as a 54 year old caucasian man with Brown hair and blue eyes. He was 5’10” tall and weighed between 140-200 lbs. Jerry has cerebral palsy, which affects the right side of his body. He walks with a right-sided limp and his right hand is crippled and hangs at his side. Jerry has a large scar on his stomach and is missing part of his middle finger on his left hand. He was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt, faded blue jeans, and a denim-lined jacket.
If you have any information regarding Jerry's case, please contact the Riverton Police Department at (307) 856-4891 or the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation at (307) 777-7181 or through their online tip form.
