Overview of Jane Wakefield

Jane Wakefield was a celebrated teacher She loved her friends and family, and was relying on them during her divorce to James Wakefield in the summer of 1975. She was with her friends all day on a cross country bike ride, but ended up going back to her new home, a motor lodge, for an "appointment". She was living in a trailer park pending her divorce, while James kept their once shared apartment in town. Neighbors heard screams that night Neighbors allegedly heard screaming coming from the direction of Jane's home, but dismissed it because they were unsure where the noises were coming from. In another unsubstantiated tip, someone claimed to hear people discussing how to dispose of a body in a motel room in town. Was it her husband? A confidential tipster claimed that Jane's soon to be ex husband kidnapped her and used an industrial trash incinerator to cremate her and throw her ashes on the highway. Search of the equipment uncovered a tooth filling, as well as bone chips. Because of a lack of proper forensic technology, the bones were never confirmed to be Jane's, or human. James Wakefield was never convicted or charged with anything related to her disappearance, and is not considered a suspect in this case.
