A man is last seen running away from someone before his body is found in a creek
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
At approximately 1:00 am on Sunday June 3, 2001, 20 year old Grover Ramirez Jr. was last seen with two friends near Comanche Creek in Chico, CA. According to one of Grover's friends who was present that night, a group of people were in the area near the creek that night, and the they began chasing Grover and his friends for an unknown reason. When Grover's friends stopped running about a mile away, they realized Grover wasn't behind them anymore. Four days later, on June 7, 2001, Grover's body was found in the creek underneath a group of overhanging bushes; his autopsy listed drowning as his cause of death. No signs of trauma were present on Grover's body, along with a lack of scrapes or scratches, which doesn't match the brushy, thorny terrain where the men were running on the night of his death.
