Gilberto "Beto" Gonzalez had recently moved to Tucson and was living and working at a clothing store. He and a 19 year old coworker shared an apartment . The men shared a vehicle that was provided to them by the stores owner. The men did not open the store as expected on January 21, 1996. Their vehicle was found parked at their apartment complex and their apartment was found unlocked but the men were not there.
