Do you know what happened to Donna Jokumsen?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
Donna Mae Jokumsen, a 22-year-old mother of two, disappeared from her home in Chandler, Arizona on July 5, 1987 and was never seen again. Her friends, family, and local police believe that she was killed.
The case was reopened by the Chandler police in 2013, but no new evidence was found. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office presented the case to a grand jury which determined there was enough probable cause to indict her husband, Kevin Jokumsen, on second-degree murder charges in September 2017. However, a judge acquitted the 56-year-old Jokumsen of his wife's murder despite inconsistencies in Jokumsen's story about how his wife went missing and claims of a toxic relationship.
