Do you know what happened to Chloie Leverette?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
In 2012, Chloie Leverette and her half-brother, Christopher "Gage" Daniel, went missing from their home in Unionville, Tennessee, where they lived with their grandparents, Leon "Bubba" McClaran and Molli McClaran. The last known sighting of the children was at approximately 6:30 p.m. on September 23 of that year.
Later that evening, a fire broke out at the McClarans' residence, which resulted in the deaths of the grandparents. Despite a thorough search of the debris, the children were not found, and no evidence of their remains was discovered. The remains of the family's pets, however, were discovered in the rubble.
Investigators were unable to determine the cause of the fire, but authorities initially believed it to be accidental. Fire officials discovered evidence that over thirty propane tanks in the basement had ruptured, but there were no signs of an explosion.
While it was initially thought that the children had perished in the fire, forensic anthropologists who examined the scene found no evidence to support this theory. The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Chloie and Christopher remain unclear.
