On Sunday, December 11, 2011 at approximately 11:50 pm, Patrol Officers responded to Archer Woods Apartments, located at 3020 Archer Rd. A resident of the complex heard a male scream “Help me” from the second floor balcony of apartment #18 and called 911. When Officers arrived they found the door to apartment #18 unlocked and a blood trail leading to the second floor of the apartment. Upon checking a bedroom they located Jones on the floor suffering from a stab wound. EMS transported Jones to Shands where he died.
