Timothy was last seen on June 6, 2003 when he went hiking at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park at the end of Chain of Craters Rd. in Hawaii National Park, HI. On June 13, 2003 Timothy's rental car was located abandoned at the entrance of the park, near the lava flows along the volcano's coast.
