19-year-old Shanna Genelle Peoples was last walking to her boyfriend's home just down the road from her home in Geneva, Alabama. At the time of her disappearance, she lived about two blocks away from her parents.
According to the FBI, Shanna is mentally challenged and has the maturity level of a 13-year-old girl. She also takes daily medication for severe bipolar disorder.
Shanna's daily routine consisted of her walking or riding her bike between her home and her parents' or a nearby store to purchase soda and candy.
On the day she was discovered missing, the front door to Shanna's home was found open and the television on. There was no signs of a struggle inside the home and her bicycle was found at her home. Family and friends close to Shanna said she was very routine about turning the TV off and locking the door when she left. Shanna frequently used her cell phone, but it was turned off around 4:00 p.m. on the day she went missing.
She may also go by Shanna McKee.
