Patricia "Patty" Wagner was a 26 year old mother of two young children, living in New Jersey, at the time of her disappearance nearly 50 years ago. Patricia was known to have loved her children and the rest of her family dearly and is remembered by her oldest son for her massive love of music and a great collection of vinyl records.

On the evening of October 20, 1972, Patty had asked her mother, Marie, to watch her two children, informing her mother that she had plans to go on a coffee date with a man named Dennis. Patty had made a promise to one of her sons that she would take him to McDonald's the next day, to make up for her absence that night.

When Patty didn't return home that night, or the following morning, her worried mother called the local police department and reported Patty missing. Initially, police seemed to have believed that Patty ran off with the man known only as Dennis, but her family believed otherwise. Patty's family explained to police that not only did she lack the resources to run off, but more importantly that she would never abandon her two young children.

Although there has been no further information regarding the investigation into Patty's disappearance after 48 years since Patty was last seen, her cousin, Eileen, was able to bring new information regarding the unknown man's identity to the police in 2020.

Eileen, who has been trying to find her cousin for nearly 50 years, believes she may have finally identified the man with who Patty had planned to go on a coffee date, Dennis, on that October night in 1972.

According to Eileen in an interview with Dateline, she believes she has identified who Patty had plans to go on a date with on the night of her disappearance. Eileen told Dateline that this individual, known only as Dennis, has refused to discuss Patty's disappearance with her or other family members and that she has passed his name and information onto investigators with the New Jersey State Police. The New Jersey State Police would not comment on whether this man has been identified as the man who met with Patty on the night of her disappearance, only informing Dateline that the case remains an open investigation, followed by an urge to contact police if anyone has any information.

At the time of her disappearance on October 20, 1972, Patricia "Patty" Jane Wagner was 26 years old, stood 5'3" tall, and weighed approximately 120 lbs. Patty is described as a Caucasian female with brown hair and blue eyes, with both ears pierced. Today, Patty would be 75 years old.
