Overview of Michael Boyette
In October of 2007, Michael Boyette was last seen near Hilltop Road in Grand Bay. According to family members, at the time of his disappearance, Michael and his wife, who is also the mother of his children, were going through a divorce and he was not in the best place mentally and emotionally.
On the evening of October 17, 2007, Michael stopped by a relative's home. Realizing that Michael was distressed, his family member talked to him and tried to calm him. However, Michael ran out of the home. The relative followed Michael out and called for him to stop, but he continued onto a neighboring property and into a wooded area.
In an interview with Lagniappe, Capt. Paul Burch stated that Michael was acting very strange before his disappearance, telling his family he was going to "go back to where it all started," and that deputies were involved in a pursuit the week before with Michael when the responded to an attempted suicide complaint.
Shortly after Michael's disappearance, his mother Myra Latner told WKRG that he had a troubled past with heavy drug use and suicidal ideations and she was concerned her son's history would keep him from ever being found.
"It breaks my heart. He's just as important as anyone else's son or daughter or father or mother." Myra Latner to WKRG.
Almost 15 years later, Michael's whereabouts remain a mystery. While Michael is listed in NamUs, he is not listed in the ALEA database.
