A young woman is reportedly last seen running into the woods in Empire, AL
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
26-year-old Maxine Bieberbach was last seen on or about March 8, 2018, but she was reported missing until May of 2018. Maxine had struggled with addiction and had participated in Sheriff Nick Smith's Mercy Project. Just prior to her disappearance, Maxine told her family she was going to rehab and would not be able to contact them for a while. As time passed with no communication from Maxine at all, her family became concerned and filed a missing person report.
Maxine was allegedly last seen running into the woods behind a home off Empire Road in Sumiton, AL, and has not been seen since.
She has tattoos on both arms, her wrist, ring finger, and a large tattoo with a handprint on her side for her daughter who passed away from cancer.
