On April 24, 2014, Kierra dropped her younger sister and one of her brothers off at school, then she, another of her brothers and her son went to Five Points West to meet a man at Boost Mobile. Kierra knew the man from doing his kids' hair and had talked to him before. He was supposed to give Kierra money to help get her brakes fixed.

Around 9:00 a.m., surveillance shows Kierra getting into a burgundy 2012 Chrysler 200. Kierra's brother and son waited for her to return, but she never did and calls to her cell were not being answered.

While Birmingham Police Department has stated the man is a person of interest, he has not been named publicly, primarily because there's no evidence or witnesses to say what happened once Kierra was in the car or where they went.
