Do you know what happened to Joseph Domin?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
Joe Domin, also known as "GPS Joe," was an avid hiker who contributed to outdoor websites such as HikeArizona.com and ArizonaHikers.com. He was 68 years old when he was last seen on November 8, 2010, heading to the Mount Peeley trailhead to hike Sheep Mountain in Arizona's Mazatzal Wilderness. He had planned to hike with a group but ended up going alone.
Unfortunately, he did not leave an itinerary with anyone and was not reported missing until a week later. His car was found at the trailhead, and an extensive search and rescue effort was launched to find him, but the official search and rescue were called off after five days.
The hiking community in Arizona continues to search for Joe voluntarily, warning that the terrain was thick, difficult, and dangerous for the unprepared.
