Overview of Jarvis Carson

Jarvis B. Carson was a beloved father whose life was senselessly taken in 2013.

Jarvis was known for his huge smile and energetic character. Jarvis was a father of five young children, under the age of 10 years old at the time of his death. According to family members, Jarvis absolutely loved being a father, so much that each and every one of his children were the center of his life.

Jarvis was shot to death while walking home from work in April of 2013.

Jarvis was reportedly walking home from work in Louisville, KY around 10:00 pm on the evening of April 30, 2013 when he was shot several times. When authorities responded to the reports of shots fired, they found Jarvis lying in the middle of Oak Street, between 6th and 7th streets with several gunshot wounds. According to witnesses, the gunfire sounded like it had come from two or more guns and at least 12 shots were fired within a few seconds.

"As hard as it is, it's even harder not knowing. I hope somebody sees this and knows we haven't given up getting justice for him." - Shawn Carson, Jarvis’ mother.

Where the case stands today.

Today, Jarvis’ case has continued to go unsolved for more than 9 years without any resolution. His family have had to live without answers and his children have had to grow up without their father.

"They're old enough, they know their daddy's not coming home. There's no closure, there's never going to be closure. We just hope this case gets solved.” - Shala Rochelle, Jarvis’ girlfriend.
