El Shawndrae Devon Jones was last seen on February 18, 1999 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with his friend Toby Bing. They were driving Bing's white 1994 Toyota pickup truck at the time of their disappearances. Bing received a call on his cellular phone while away from his residence during the day and the caller requested that Bing drive to Bluffton, South Carolina.

Bing's vehicle was discovered abandoned in Savannah, Georgia on February 24, 1999, six days after he and Jones vanished. There was no sign of either man at the scene.

Bing's friend Sean Rico Sullivan was charged with his murder in April 1999 due to a large amount of Bing's blood found in his property. The blood found in Sullivan's property proved that Bing could not have survived his wounds. Jones's case is considered as a victim of foul play as well but Sullivan was not charged in connection with Jones's case. The remains of Bing and Jones have never been located.
