Derrick Alexander, a father of 2, lived in Baton Rouge, LA, all his life. He was a son, a brother, an uncle and was engaged to be married.

Police received a call about shots fired in the 5300 block of Ritterman Ave in Baton Rouge. Upon arrival, they found Derrick lying in the street; he had been shot multiple times. There was nothing they could do to help him as he had already died before authorities arrived on the scene; the time was a little before 9:00 pm on a Wednesday.

Authorities do not have a motive or a suspect at this time. This case is currently still open.
