Overview of Bernadette Caruso
On September 27, 1986, Bernadette Stevenson Caruso disappeared from the Eastpoint Mall in Baltimore County, Maryland.
She was last seen leaving her job at Shaw's Jewelry Store and entering her car in the mall's parking lot. She had told a co-worker that she was going to meet her estranged husband, Michael Caruso, to discuss something. She never contacted her friend later that day and her vehicle, a 1982 Chevrolet Cavalier, has never been found.
At the time of her disappearance, Bernadette and Michael were in a bitter custody battle over their three-year-old daughter. Michael, a police officer, was later fired for abusing a prisoner and was known to threaten Bernadette. He has not been charged in her case and no suspects have been named.
Foul play is suspected in Bernadette's disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.
