Gilgo Beach Case Update

Asian Male John Doe

On April 4, 2011, the body of a young Asian person was discovered along Ocean Parkway at Gilgo Beach. The victim was estimated to be 17-23 years old, 5'6" in height, and missing four teeth. The victim was biologically male, but was wearing women's clothing at the time of their death. It is unclear if they were transgender. They may have had a musculoskeletal disorder that affected how they walked. The cause of death was determined to be blunt-force trauma to the head. Police estimate the remains had been there for at least five years. Police released a composite sketch of the victim in September 2011.
