Alfina reportedly sent messages to a number of friends in the Sierra Blanca community saying she was going away for awhile. She did not alert family members or say where she was going or who she was reportedly leaving with at the time. She has not been heard from since December 25, 2018. On or about 2 January 2019, she reportedly emptied her home despite reportedly stating she would return in 2-3 weeks. She was reported to have been seen driving her 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck near her property in the Sunset Ranches of Sierra Blanca, Texas by a neighbor.
