Overview of Tiffany Whitton
From shoplifting to missing...what happened to Tiffany Whitton?
At 26 years-old, Tiffany Whitton was outgoing, passionate, and headstrong.
Tiffany's mother has told reporters that Tiffany "just really seemed to love life. [She had] two speeds: on and off. That's it. There's no in between. From the time she'd wake up in the morning, until she went to bed at night, it was just full force, all day long."
Even with all of her good qualities, Tiffany had other sides to her personality. She struggled with addictions to stealing, addictions to drugs, and a criminal record. Despite all of this, she keeps working at getting her life back together, and would lean on her support system.
In 2013, Tiffany would meet the man that she would be seen with the night she disappeared — Ashley "Red" Claude.
Tiffany met Ashley at a low moment in her life. Tiffany was coming off a relationship that had ended because of infidelity on Tiffany’s part, and her roommate, Sheila Fuller, had kicked her out for stealing from her. Ashley and Tiffany quickly began using crystal meth together, and not surprisingly because of her history, Tiffany became addicted.
Family and friends say the couple’s relationship was volatile, marked with frequent arguments. Indeed, Tiffany and Ashley were evicted from one home due to their frequent and loud fights.
On the night of September 12, 2013, Tiffany and Ashley go to a friend's house to use drugs, and then go to the Walmart Supercenter.
They shop around, and ultimately on the way out, Tiffany is stopped by Walmart Loss Prevention officers because they accuse her of stealing something. In an attempt to get away, Tiffany lets go of the handbag the officers have latched onto, and she kicks off her flip flops to sprint out of the exit.
Ashley is in front of her and acts as if he is oblivious to what is happening behind him. Tiffany is never seen again.
