Overview of Stephen Anderson

Family and friends described Stephen “Steve” Anderson as a kind and generous person who didn’t have any enemies. His family believes he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. So, if Steve wasn’t the intended target that night, who was? This could be the key to solving who killed a man that was loved by so many.

On Monday, 2/25/2013, it was a little chilly with a high of 64 degrees. It had rained earlier in the day, but the rain had stopped by the evening. Since Steve grew up in the Gert Town neighborhood in New Orleans, he would often visit family on Audobon Ct., which is where he was that fateful night. From the bits and pieces that the family had put together, Steve was asleep at his cousin’s house in the 3000 block of Audobon Ct. It was around 8:40 pm when the doorbell rang. A 23 year old man answered the door, and that’s when 2 gunmen barged inside and opened fire. Steve received multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and the 23 year old sustained injuries to his leg.

When police arrived, Steve was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released a motive or suspects in the shooting.
