Overview of Sheila Doyle
Sheila Rae Doyle went missing on June 15, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. from her summer home in the Salt Pond subdivision of Bethany Beach, Delaware. She was supposed to return to her Fairfax, Virginia home the following day but never arrived. Her car was found in a park in Alexandria, Virginia on the same day.
Investigators believe she was murdered by her 35-year-old son, Brian Doyle, who is the last known person to have seen her. He was found deceased two days after his mother's disappearance, but the cause and location of his death haven't been revealed by the investigators.
The day before his death, Brian had visited several places in Delaware, including Primehook Road east of Milton, Route 113 in Milford, and the Middle Run Valley Nature Area and White Clay Creek State Park, both north of Newark.
An eight-by-ten-foot rug is missing from Sheila's Bethany Beach residence, and investigators are trying to locate it. The rug has a white pattern of leaves and stems.
Sheila's case remains unsolved, and both Delaware and Virginia police are investigating.
