14-year-old Ricardo Taylor was shot and killed while sleeping peacefully in his bed on September 8, 2014. Two bullets flew threw Ricardo Taylor's bedroom window and struck him in the neck. Shots were fired into the brick duplex on the 6000 block of Quince Rd, not far from Lichterman Nature Center and the Balmoral Center shopping complex; police say Ricardo was an innocent bystander. The teenager was transported by private vehicle to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His mother says that Ricardo loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that he was in bed asleep for school when he was shot. No arrests have been made in this investigation; authorities questioned one suspect, who was released for a lack of evidence.
