Morris Bates, Sr., was described by friends and family as an outgoing person who was kind, sweet, and caring. He was someone who was funny and always lit up the room. At 35 years old and a father of 8, Morris was taken from all of those who loved him.

It was in the lower 70's on Saturday, 12/12/2015, just before 9 pm. Authorities arrived in the 3100 block of Ogden Street near the intersection of Forshey Street in New Orleans and found Morris. He had been shot in the head and died from his injuries.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $2500 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s) responsible for Morris' death. This case is still open.
