Have you seen Megan Sweeney?
Our cold case database is in danger of no longer being maintained.
Megan Marie Sweeney, a 26-year-old woman, was last seen by her family in the Washington County area of Maryland in June 2012. She left the area after learning she was wanted by the police and has not been in contact with her family since. In July 2012, Sweeney was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft of less than $1,000 and theft of less than $10,000, but was released on $10,000 bond. A warrant was issued for her arrest in October 2012 after she failed to appear in court. Her family reported her missing in May 2014 and concerns for her welfare as it is unusual for her to be out of contact with them for such a long time.
Authorities believe she may have traveled to Georgia or Florida. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is asking for any information that may help locate Sweeney, who is described as white, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Sometimes she uses the name Megan Marie Powers.
