Malik Kyran "Doothy" Braddy was just a typical teenager, like any other, who liked sports, parties, dances, and other things he enjoyed doing. He had just graduated from high school in May of 2014 and had plans to join the Navy. Malik's father stated that all he wanted to do was get a job and try to do the right thing. Instead, someone took Malik away from all of those who loved him at the very young age of 18.

A little after 10 pm on Friday, 10/10/2014, Malik was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the middle of the street in the 1600 block of Lizardi street in the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

The NOPD has not named any suspects or released a possible motive in Malik's murder. This case is still open.
