Overview of Lisa Wallace

30-year-old Lisa Wallace was last seen near Chewalla Creek Drive in Eufaula, AL, on October 27, 2012. According to her husband Chris Wallace, the pair had an argument and he left around 1:00 p.m. to take their daughter to his mother's house. While he was gone, Lisa packed a bag and left on foot, never to be seen again.

According to friends and family, Lisa had been a victim of domestic violence, often showing up at work with severe bruises. They frequently urged Lisa to leave Chris, but Lisa never did. Libby Caldwell, Lisa's close friend, told WRBL that after Lisa was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Lisa and Chris moved to Eufaula to be closer to Chris' family and UAB. In 2011, Lisa gave birth to their daughter. With the birth of their daughter, Lisa's perspective on her marriage shifted and she told friends and family she was leaving Chris. According to The Charley Project website, Lisa and Chris had filed for divorce just days before she disappeared.

At the time that Lisa vanished, she was suffering from a brain tumor and scheduled to undergo a second surgery in December. Despite that, Lisa's mind was unaffected and she was behaving normally.

Although investigators initially stated they did not suspect foul play, they later identified Chris as a person of interest in Lisa's disappearance.

Lisa's family hired private investigator Kathy Johnston of Johnston & Johnston Private Investigations LLC in Dothan to locate their daughter. in 2013, Kathy told media outlets that authorities had ignored evidence, claiming a bloody mattress had been found in the woods off Highway 95 and had not been tested for Lisa's DNA. Eufaula Police Sgt. Larry Hubbard responded by saying the mattress was not relevant at the time and did not respond further.

“(Wallace) has never fallen off of the grid. She has always had contact with her mother, her brother or someone in her family. There has been no use of her social security number. There has been nothing.” Kathy Johnston, private investigator with Johnston & Johnston Private Investigations LLC to AL.com.

In 2019, Chris Wallace was pulled over by Auburn Police officer Justin Sanders as a potential suspect in a local pharmacy robbery. Chris reportedly shot Officer Sanders and then drove off with a female companion. Authorities tracked the couple to an apartment complex on Stonegate Drive, but authorities say Chris committed murder-suicide upon himself and his female companion before a fire broke out in the apartment.

Lisa continues to be listed as a missing person in the ALEA and NamUs databases.
