Overview of Lindsay Harris
Lindsay Marie Harris had her entire life ahead of her. Lindsay Harris was only 21 years old. She was raised in Skaneateles, New York, by her parents, who were both teachers, Robert and Martha Harris, and had a twin brother. There is limited information available about Lindsay as a person.
At 19 years old, Lindsay met her boyfriend, Solomon Barron, at a concert. Barron worked as a self-proclaimed music promoter. Not long after, Lindsay moved across the country to live with Barron. Lindsay only told her parents that she was a dancer, however, Lindsay was working for an escort service. When Lindsay returned home to New York for Christmas, her family met Barron for the first time.
The last time Lindsay was seen. On May 4, 2005, Lindsay vanished from her Henderson, Nevada, home. She was last spotted making a bank deposit at her local bank. Lindsay was last seen wearing sweatpants and her hair in a ponytail. The next day, Lindsay calls around to local utility companies, but it remains unknown if she was paying bills or shutting off power.
On May 7, 2005, Barron told Lindsay’s parents she was missing. This was the first time he ever reached out to them. Barron proceeds to tell her parents about the last time he spoke to her, which was on May 6, 2005. She left him a voicemail. However, Barron was not in Nevada, he was in Syracuse, NY, but upon realizing Lindsay was missing flew back to Nevada. Lindsay is reported missing to Henderson Police Department. Her rental car was found abandoned in the desert, and her credit cards had not been used since. The exact timing of when her car was found has not been made public.
On May 23, 2005, a severed leg was found by a group of children approximately several hundred yards away from Interstate 55 in Divernon, Illinois, 15 miles south of Springfield. The next day, the other leg was found. Approximately three years later, officials identified the remains as Lindsay Harris.
Where the case stands today.
Lindsays’ case remains unsolved. While her case has been connected to Neal Fills, who was ultimately fatally shot by a sex worker. Fills who was living in Henderson, Nevada at the time of Lindsay’s disappearance, was looked at as a potential person of interest by the police. Police have made no arrests in connection with Lindsay’s case.
In 2023, Rex Heuermann was arrested in connection to the Long Island Serial Killer case. Heuermann had known ties to Los Vegas as he owned property around the time of Lindsay’s disappearance. At this time, police are examining cold cases in different jurisdictions where Rex he frequented. There has been a renewed public interest in Lindsay’s case as a result.
