Overview of Lea Porter

Lea Porter, a resident of Pueblo, Colorado, was last seen on June 3, 2014, in Westminster, Colorado. She was visiting a friend, Christopher Adam Waide, whom she had known since high school. According to Waide, Lea left his apartment following an argument because she wanted him to buy drugs, and he claimed she received a phone call.

Lea's car was found abandoned at Waide's apartment complex, but her belongings were missing. She did not use her credit cards, phone, or social media accounts after that day. Her brother and boyfriend confronted Waide on June 12 and recorded him confessing to killing Lea. The police then arrested Waide.

Waide claimed that he killed Lea in self-defense after an argument, during which she attacked him with a knife. He put her body in a duffel bag and disposed of it, along with her clothes, purse, and wallet, in different dumpsters. Authorities believe that Waide killed Lea because she resisted his sexual advances.

In September 2015, Waide pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and sexual assault charges, which were later dropped. He was sentenced to 48 years in prison, and investigators believe Porter's body is in the Allied Waste Services Tower Road Landfill in Commerce City, Colorado. A search for her body in the landfill was unsuccessful, but her phone and clothes were recovered. Porter's case is still under investigation.
