Overview of Kimberly Boyd
Kimberly was last seen with her mother, Sarah W. Boyd, and Linda McCord, traveling in a vehicle through Dorchester County after leaving a gospel concert in Walterboro, SC on the evening of April 3, 1987. They were en route to their residences in Orangeburg County when they disappeared.
A witness saw their blue Lincoln on Route 15 driving between 30 and 45 miles per hour with another car behind it; however, the witness was unable to describe the second vehicle or its occupant(s).
The Boyd's vehicle was found disabled and abandoned in Dorchester County near the intersection of Highway 15 and 176 on April 5, 1987 by Linda McCord's husband. In the car, a freeze plug had blown out and the engine had overheated; there was no sign of Kimberly, Sarah, or Linda at the scene, and they have never been heard from again.
Foul play is suspected in the disappearances of Linda McCord and the Boyds. Sarah's credit card was used in a local mall in 1990, three years after her disappearance. According to Police, the signature was barely legible and didn't match Sarah's writing. The identity of the credit card user has never been established.
