Overview of Katherine Worsky
Katherine "Katie" Worsky disappeared on July 12, 1982, from a house in Virginia where she was staying overnight with a friend. Her father dropped her off at the house, and she disappeared the next day, leaving her insulin behind.
Glenn Barker, a convenience store clerk who had dated the friend's mother, was convicted of second-degree murder in 1983, despite the fact that Worsky's body was never found. Barker served nine years of an 18-year sentence before being released on parole in 1992.
Rumors of Worsky's body being under a Hardee's restaurant under construction circulated, but searches turned up nothing. Bloodstains were found in the house, and forensic evidence was found in Barker's apartment and car.
Barker was convicted and spent 9 years of an 18 year sentence in prison for her death without a body. After getting out of prison he was considered for several other cases.
