Overview of Glenquel Emerson
Glenquel Emerson was just 20 years old with her whole life ahead of her when she lost her life to gun violence. She left behind many family and friends who loved her.
Just before 9:30 pm on Tuesday, 10/04/2016, authorities received a call about a shooting in the 3700 block of Ulloa Street in New Orleans, LA. Little did they know, it was more than just a shooting. Through investigation, NOPD learned there was a group of people hanging around outside when one group started shooting, and the other group returned fire. Five people in total were shot, but before night's end, 3 people would die from their injuries. Glenquel Emerson was 20 years old and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other 2 victims, Darome Hilton, 34, and Bobbie Basquine, 22, were taken to a local hospital but ultimately lost their lives.
The day after the shooting, authorities released a video to the public. It was taken from a camera on the same street as the shooting. In the video, two men are seen running down the road, and another male is seen staggering and falling to the ground. Investigators are still looking for possible suspects and motives, and no arrests have been made. This case is still open.
