Overview of Giggie Blount
Giggie Belinda Blount was a mother to 7 beautiful children who meant the world to her. She was also a daughter and sister to 7 siblings. She grew up in the Uptown area but lived most of her adult life in New Orleans East. Giggie was described by family and friends as the life of the party and a beautiful person inside and out. She was the kind of mother who would often sing gospel songs while walking around the house and when on the phone. She always smiled, loved to dance, loved her kids and her family, and was well-loved by many. But someone decided to take her away from all of those who loved her.
On Monday, 09/11/2017 about 3:30 am, officers responded to a Central City parking lot in New Orleans to investigate a possible disturbance. Upon arrival, they found Giggie, 35, who had been shot in the back. Investigators learned that Giggie was in an argument with either one or more people before they shot her. EMS tried to revive her at the scene, and she was rushed to the hospital, where she ultimately passed away.
Investigators are still looking for possible suspects and motives, and no arrests have been made. This case is still open.
