Overview of Donald Barge, Jr.
Donald Isadore 'Beezle' Barge Jr. was an aspiring rapper out of New Orleans. A quick search on YouTube will bring up numerous videos he made where he can be seen rapping to his music. His friends would say that Donald wanted people to know him for his music. But at the young age of 20, someone decided to take him away from all those who loved him. From all accounts, Donald was a wonderful person who stayed to himself. He was not involved in a violent lifestyle and wasn't the kind of young man to be in any trouble. So why?
It was a cold but clear Saturday evening on 01/25/2014, with the temperature about 50 degrees. At about 6 pm, Donald was leaving a home, in a blue vehicle, in the Algiers neighborhood on Odeon St. in New Orleans. Suddenly, someone opened fire, hitting him multiple times. Even though Donald was shot 9 times, he kept on driving. He managed to go a couple of blocks further until his vehicle crashed into a fence. Then it came to a rolling stop in the front yard of a home on Ptolemy St. Donald was taken to a local hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries.
Donald's family is still searching for answers about who killed him and why. "I just need justice for my son," said Mrs. Barge. "I know it won't bring my son back or anything, but I need justice for him, so I'm able to rest." Authorities do not have a motive or a suspect, but they hope someone will come forward. This case is still open.
