Overview of Donald Alexander

Donald Michael Alexander, aka "Loon," was loved by so many people, as evident in his obituary. So, what exactly happened to Donald?

It was cloudy and a little chilly, with the temperatures reaching around 64 degrees on the evening of Thursday, March 27, 2014. The New Orleans Pelicans and the LA Clippers basketball game had just started at 7 pm. At about the same time, Donald was walking down the 2200 block of St. Phillip street. Rows of duplexes closely built next to one another can be seen on both sides of the road, with parked cars lined up just the same. Two teenagers, approximately 16 years of age, approached Donald. One of the teenagers, who was armed, opened fire, striking Donald in the torso, and left him for dead.

The New Orleans Police Department responded to an aggravated battery by shooting call at approximately 7 pm on the 2200 block of St. Phillip Street. Upon arrival, they found Donald suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to the local hospital, where he eventually died.

Almost two weeks later, authorities released an image from an area surveillance camera of 3 young men they believe may have information about Donald's murder. Unfortunately, that image can no longer be found on the internet at this time. Donald's case is still currently open.
