Darren Jermaine "Fat Man" Banks was 19 years old when he died from gun violence. Although little is known about Darren's life, that doesn't make his story any less important. He had a lot of family and friends that loved him.

Authorities received reports of a shooting just after 10 pm on Friday, 01/06/2012. Upon arrival, they found Darren lying in front of a home in the 11000 block of Stan Avenue in Baton Rouge. He was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound but did not make it. Police believe he may have had an altercation with an unknown suspect before the shooting.

Authorities do not have a motive or a suspect, but they hope someone will come forward. This case is still open.
