Carlos Vicente Carrillo, a promoter who worked for the nightclub Evolution Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii, went missing on July 4, 2000. He was last seen by his girlfriend inside the club at approximately 2:00 am. A bouncer working at the club was arrested for kidnapping her and driving her against her will to the Pearlridge area of Honolulu. According to other club employees, Carrillo and the bouncer had an argument during the early morning hours. A witness stated that a man matching Carrillo's description was knocked down on the street by unidentified individuals between 2:00-5:00 am, but authorities were not able to confirm if it was him. The bouncer claimed to have driven Carrillo to the airport and said he planned to fly to Las Vegas, but authorities were unable to find any evidence of him boarding a plane. Authorities found a stained piece of carpet in a dumpster near Evolution Waikiki shortly after Carrillo's disappearance but were unable to confirm if it was human blood or another substance. Carlos Carrillo's case remains unsolved.
