Overview of Bobby Basquine

Bobby Romero Basquine III was 22 years old when he died. He worked for a restaurant and helped his father as an auto mechanic before his death.

Just before 9:30 pm on Tuesday, 10/04/2016, authorities received a call about a shooting in the 3700 block of Ulloa Street in New Orleans, LA. Little did they know, it was more than just a shooting. Through investigation, NOPD learned there was a group of people hanging around outside when one group started shooting, and the other group returned fire. Five people in total were shot, but before night's end, 3 people would die from their injuries. Glenquel Emerson was 20 years old and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other 2 victims, Darome Hilton, 34, and Bobbie Basquine, 22, were taken to a local hospital but ultimately lost their lives. There was a lot of speculation that Bobby was targeted because several months prior, he testified in a federal case against individuals involved in drug trafficking. As such, Bobby would make the second witness to be shot to death after testifying in the same case. However, authorities have stated that there is no evidence of a connection to that trial at this time.

The day after the shooting, authorities released a video to the public. It was taken from a camera on the same street as the shooting. In the video, two men are seen running down the road, and another male is seen staggering and falling to the ground. Investigators are still looking for possible suspects and motives, and no arrests have been made. This case is still open.
