Virginia Sue Pictou-Noyes was a 26-year-old mother to 5 children living in Easton, Maine, and was also a member of the Mi'kmaq Indian Nation. Virginia was assaulted outside of a tavern on April 24, 1993. It was thought that she was assaulted by her husband and his brother. She was then taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine for treatment. She left the hospital without permission before her check up was finished. She claimed she had to get home to her children. She was last seen at a truck stop in Houlton, Maine during the morning hours where she called family and friends for a ride home. She has not been heard from or seen since.
