Jacobs was last seen at a convenience store in Red Springs, North Carolina on February 26, 1996. He had ridden there from his girlfriend's house with the friend. He was seen getting into a black vehicle with more than one person in the car. Troy had expressed to his father earlier that evening that he was concerned for his safety.
