Late Night: Norine leaves to go buy ingredients for Christmas cookies
Investigators don't know whether she actually went inside the supermarket that night. It wasn't uncharacteristic of her to go shopping at odd hours, because she preferred to go when stores were less crowded. A Pathmark employee recalled seeing Norine's car in the parking lot shortly after 11:00 p.m. on the night of her disappearance, but no one remembered seeing Norine herself.

8:00am: Norine's husband calls Norine's friend to inquire if Norine was with her
“Norine’s husband called me at 8 o’clock in the morning -- said that Norine went to the food store last night to buy stuff to make Christmas cookies at around 11:00 p.m.,” Elaine said. “But he said they did have a little fight before that, so he was wondering if she had stayed at my house -- because she never came home.”
