Hagos is robbed
In early August, Hagos is robbed in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The robbers steal $3,800 from Hagos, according to search warrant documents. Hagos ends up with the cellphone of one of the robbers, and uses the phone to attempt to contact the individuals who had robbed him. Joseph Graves, 22, and Wayne Brown, 23, were later arrested and charged with the robbery and attacking Hagos.

Hagos has an appointment set with police
After Hagos is robbed on August 15th, and his attempts at contacting the assailants fail, Hagos sets an appointment to meet with a Saint Paul police officer. It is not known whether this robbery is related to his death the next day.
Late Night: Hagos takes a bus downtown
According to police, Hagos takes a local bus from his home to downtown Saint Paul, MN just after 10pm. Hagos is alone on the bus and when he arrives at the restaurant.
1:30am: Hagos is last seen
26-year-old Hagos Tsegay Melake is last seen leaving the Hunan Garden Restaurant with two individuals in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A witness tells investigators that they had seen Hagos leave the restaurant and get into a vehicle with two unknown individuals. An article by Star Tribune states that surveillance photos show a man with a shaved head, and another person with tattoos on their arm.

4:30am: Hagos' credit card is used by an unidentified woman
Around three hours after Hagos is last seen leaving the restaurant in Saint Paul, his credit card is used at a US Bank ATM in North Minneapolis.

6:40am: Hagos is found deceased in a parking lot
Police respond to a call regarding someone who is laying in the parking lot of a business in the 5700 block of Hamline Avenue N in Shoreview, Minnesota. Upon arriving at the scene, police find Hagos, who is not carrying any form of identification, deceased due to a gunshot wound.

11:30am: Police host a press conference
During this press conference, the Ramsey County Sheriff's office announces that they are looking for two individuals, one man with a shaved head, and another individual (it is unknown whether they were a man or a woman) with tattoos on their arm, who gave Hagos a ride from the Hunan Garden Restaurant, the last known location that Hagos was seen alive. Investigators also ask the public to look at the surveillance photo of the woman who used Hagos' card, and ask to call the tip line if you recognize her.
